The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Foundation, Bangladesh hosted a reception, DEA Night, to honour the contributions of the Heads of Educational Institutions, Partner Award Units of The DEA Foundation, BD, Award Coordinators and Award Leaders at Gulshan in the city recently, said a press release. The DEA Night is a get-together held once a year to acknowledge the contributions of the Heads of Institutions, Members of the Executive Committee, The National Award Authority, Award Coordinators and Award Leaders, said a press release.

National Director Prof Dr KM Shariful Huda apprised the guests of the activities and achievements of DEA Foundation, BD.


British High Commissioner Robert Winnington Gibson CMG was present as the chief guest while Chairman of DEA Foundation, BD and Managing Director of MM Ispahani Ltd Mirza Salman Ispahani attended the function.

Among the trustees, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Jim McCabe, Managing Director of GSK M Azizul Huq and Chairman of AK Khan Group AK Shamsuddin Khan were present on the occasion.

Vice-chancellor (VC) of Jahangirnagar University Prof MA Matin, VC of Begum Rokeya University Prof Nurun Nabi, VC of Independent University, Bangladesh Prof Dr M Omar Rahman, VC of ULAB Professor Imran Rahman and President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry and  Chairman of Daffodil Group Sabur Khan, among others, attended the gala event.


Director of Chittagong Grammar School (CGS) Shereen Ispahani presented a multimedia presentation on the award programme at CGS and in Bangladesh.

New Logo of DEA Foundation, BD was launched at the programme and every Award Units (Partner Institutions) were presented Acrylic Boards with New Logo as visual identity.
